- Richard J. Wolk and Associates was founded in 1985 and based in Pittsburgh, PA.
- The young company quickly became a recognizable full-service media agency through buying and planning media locally, regionally and nationally for advertisers.
- In 2000, Richard J. Wolk and Associates was incorporated and renamed RJW Media.
- When founder Richard J. Wolk retired in 2011, RJW Media became a female-owned business as Julie Orell Smith became the CEO and sole owner of the company.
- WBENC + WOSB certified since September 2014.
